More About Me

One look at Freddie and we know hearts are going to melt!

Freddie is one adorable dude who is ready to land his perfect forever home. He is loving, loyal and a total couch potato. In fact, he would gladly snooze the day away if allowed to do so! Occasionally he loves to play a game of fetch – he loves his stuffed mushroom and soccer ball! – or run a few laps around his yard, but mostly he just loves relaxing.

While Freddie gets along with most dogs, it’s become clear to his foster family that he prefers a more submissive dog. He loves playing with the less-dominant male pug in his foster home but isn’t terribly keen on the more dominant female dog in the home, so he should either be an only dog or go to a home with a submissive dog.

Freddie suffers from separation anxiety and is on an as-needed anti-anxiety medication to help alleviate the symptoms and behaviors of his anxiety. Therefore, Freddie would absolutely thrive in a home where someone is home for the majority of the day.   Freddie is a “nervous pee-er” and will pee when he’s anxious about being left alone, so he wears a belly band.

He has been known to get a bit territorial over toys (especially bones) when other dominant dogs are around. He does not currently live with children but briefly did in his previous home and while he did well with them, any children in his forever home must be dog-savvy and aware that he may not always want to share his toys.

Freddie has decided he doesn’t do stairs, so he definitely needs a one-story home or apartment. He does not need a fenced-in yard, however, as he isn’t prone to escaping! He’s fine in a city, suburb, etc. Just as long as he has a couch on which to lay!

Freddie’s ideal forever home would have someone who can spend the majority of their day with him or be able to bring him to work – he’d make a great coworker! What he needs most, though, is a patient and loving family who can continue working with him on his anxiety. He is such a sweet dog and we know the right home is out there! Freddie is currently being fostered near Wilmington, Del.
