** November 27, 2019:Â We are sad to report that Huxley unexpectedly passed away in his sleep during the night in his foster home. We suspect that he had an undiagnosed tumor or heart condition. We send our condolences to his foster family who loved him until the end. **
The snow on the ground puts me in the mood to write to Santa Paws. I have my pencil and paper. Now let's begin.
Wish list item #1 - special person who loves me. Wish list item #2 - forever home. There, I've written my list, all done. Let's have a snack! Right now I live with my foster family near Ledyard, CT, but I have my list written and my bags packed and I'm ready to find a forever person or family to rest by the fire on cold winter days with.
My name is Huxley and I'm a 10 year old English Bulldog boy who lived my whole life with a mom and dad, but they moved and couldn't take me along. I am very laid back and easy going, so I understand these things happen to dogs, but I also would very much like to be someone's special boy again. I love people so much that foster mama can hold me like a baby and rub my belly and I just adore being petted and doted upon like that. I am described as a true gentleman, housetrained and crate trained and indifferent to other dogs or cats. Once I was on steroids and did have an accident or two, but I really am a good boy in the house as long as I get senior boy potty breaks. I enjoy quiet lazy afternoons snoozing in a warm perch and getting my back scratched and belly rubbed. Ahh, yes, true Bulldog bliss. I am friendly and tolerant of everyone, but would prefer older children; laid back resident dogs/cats or adults only since I'm in my golden years.
I am a special boy in many ways. Not just my charm, brindley good looks and impeccable manners, but I have just a couple special needs too. I am completely deaf and partially blind. This is why I really need a patient and special person to help get me moving after my nap & guide me to the potty place and to the water bowl. I have some minor allergies that require my fur to be bathed regularly and my ears cleaned. I'm on eye drops that I take several times a day. I'm a good boy with being groomed, so don't you worry. I just need a little help from people to do these tasks.
City life, rural home, apartment or condo, I'm fine with any of these places to live! My foster mom will tell you that I make an excellent couch buddy and I only need a few short walks a day, so you see, I really am one of the easiest going guys you'll meet!
Can you help my Christmas wishes come true this year? My list is completed and my bags are already packed. I've been a good by all year. Just fill out a S.N.O.R.T. adoption application if you think you can be my special forever person. I look forward to many belly rubs and back scratches with you by my side!
