More About Me

“I am the sweetest, most snuggly and most loving dog you could ever want!”: a claim Arlo’s foster mother enthusiastically agrees with.

Arlo spent the first 2 years of his life living in a crate with just short release periods, so leash walking and freedom were all new to him. But adjust to “life on the outside” he did and did so quickly! His number one thing in life now is people! All people! His foster parents took him to a brewery recently and he was in his glory meeting and greeting all kinds of new people. (He did not imbibe wink wink).

His number two thing in life is dogs – all shapes and sizes – this is a boy who just wants to have fun romping and carousing with other dogs. He’s fine with cats, too! Arlo hasn’t spent a whole lot of time with kids, but he was excited and very sweet with the children he did meet. Arlo really loves to get right up on the couch with you and snuggle away. He also enjoys one short walk every day except in hot, muggy weather where it’s tough for short-nosed dogs to breathe.

This good boy is totally crate trained. He can be left for a maximum of 4 hours, but then will need a mid-day potty break. He would be a great candidate to take to work as he’d be totally content to sack out and sleep at your feet all day. Of course, the most ideal situation would be a home where someone is home with him a good part of the day. When Arlo gets excited, he sometimes pees a little. Keeping him on a routine for his potty breaks helps with this. He prefers a small grassy area outside to do his business, so a small yard would be perfect!

This boy is healthy, but he is missing some fur on his back. His Foster Mom gives him a daily dose of Omega 3 and 6 to help his skin and fur. Fetch is a favorite game and he greatly enjoys decimating toys – so much fun, but Nyla bones keep him happily busy.

When it comes to really learning about who Arlo is, the Foster Mom always says it best:

“Arlo is the biggest sweetheart and it breaks my heart to hear that for the first 2 years of his life he basically lived in his crate. He picked up leash walking quickly and enjoys being outside when it’s not too hot. He's the best snuggler and just wants all your love and attention. He would make a wonderful companion for someone that is home often and would enjoy taking them with him on short trips. He did really well when we took him to a local brewery. He just loves being around people and meeting new people!”
