More About Me

Looking for a loving, entertaining, and fun English Bulldog?? If yes, Jumba is the man! This young guy is full of boundless energy and is in constant motion, much of which is directed to adoring YOU!

A real lovebug, Jumba’s most favorite thing in the world is to follow his human – everywhere! Next on the list are playing with any, and all, toys, as well as playing with other dogs – he loves all dogs! Jumba sometimes doesn’t understand play protocols, so he would do best with another playful dog or have play dates. In addition, the big boy loves to play tug-of-war, adores his red ball, and enjoys chewing on his faux bones.

Jumba comes crate trained, potty-trained and trick trained! He knows sit, lay down, high five, other (paw for high five). A smart boy, he knows the meanings of toy, ball, hungry and outside.

Since he is in constant motion, Jumba needs a lot of stimulation, otherwise, he tends to be a bit of a mischief-maker when left alone. He also doesn’t know how big he is and can sometimes get a little rough, which is why he’d do best in a home without children under 5.

Jumba came into rescue from a family that had just had a baby and could not find a vet close enough to them who could deal with his allergies.

Yes, Jumba has a lot of allergies as well as elongated palate that make it hard for him to breathe at times. In fact, long walks in warm or hot weather can be problematic. In addition, when he gets into serious play mode, he needs to be monitored and calmed down. Also, his allergic reactions are troublesome and require a lot care, including weekly medicated baths, foot soaks, and daily cleaning of his wrinkles to prevent infection. Additional treatments for Jumba’s allergies include Cytopoint shots, prescription hydrolyzed protein food as well as supplements to help control inflammation. His allergies will require extra care, time, and cost.

Jumba will thrive just about anywhere as long as he’s with dog-savvy, caring people who are willing to give him attention, stimulation completely care for his needs, and keep him happy and healthy. Apartments could be iffy since he can be on the loud side by barking for attention and attention.

Here’s what his foster Mom has to say about Jumba:

Jumba is a VERY handsome and sweet boy. He has a lot of energy and a lot of love to give. He is smart and tries his best to be a good boy despite his size and young age. Jumba does take some extra time and energy to keep him healthy and clean, but he is worth it. The lucky family who adopts him can expect to be entertained by his personality and bathed daily by his tongue.
