Big, beautiful Dolly is a true EB gem who is full of love, devotion, and fun. She is the sweetest of the sweet and the silliest of the silly. She brings joy and energy to her little sphere of this world of ours and delights in sharing her beautiful, friendly self with everyone!
Dolly came into rescue through no fault of her own. The victim of a divorce, she came from a home where there were kids she loved and with whom she got along famously with! In her foster home, she is in her glory with grandchildren ages 13, 11, 3, 6 months and 5 months. Typical of EBs, she doesn’t know her own strength so a home with small children wouldn’t be the greatest since in her desire to play, she could take them out at the knees.
Besides her busy, fun, performing self, Dolly also loves her couch-potato loafing self. Couch? A reading or TV watching human? We’re talking Dolly-heaven! In fact, she sometimes thinks she’s a lap dog! She just adores her peeps and wants to be wherever they are.
Short walks are a favorite activity as is playing with her large tennis ball. She LOVES playing with this ball and will retrieve it whenever you throw it.
She is heaven sent when it comes to being housebroken – she barks at the door to let you know she needs to go. Dolly knows some commands, including sit, down, come, and this way. She’s never been crate trained but doesn’t have any behaviors that indicate she needs to be.
Dolly does have a significant health issue which is epilepsy. She is on medication that MUST be administered twice a day, 12 hours apart. Currently she receives it at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and this is non-negotiable. She can be left alone but right now she’s used to having someone there with her all day.
This special girl loves playing with other dogs, and she NEEDS at least a medium sized dog in her new home. She does get excited when playing and needs someone to monitor her activity level and tell her when she needs a break.
Dolly’s ideal home is either suburban or rural, in a single-family home that does not have many stairs. She is okay with stairs now, but as she gets older it could be a problem. Right now, she is in a home that has a pool. She loves the water and if she sees children in the water, she’ll try to be the lifeguard. Thus, she must wear a life jacket.
Dolly is indeed a wonderful girl who will bring great happiness to her new family. Here’s what her foster Mom has to say about her:
Dolly deserves all the love a family can give her. She needs her quality time to snuggle and play. She is a sweet girl that loves being part of a family.Â
