What loves with total devotion, cuddles like a teddy bear, and is funny like a circus clown? Enter Jude, the friendly, smart, spoiled, and outgoing EBD who thrives on being the center of attention and will fill your life with joy.
This boy is actually the original couch potato and despite his young age, is perfectly content to sleep the day away. This is mainly because of a few heart issues that will require ongoing medical care with a cardiologist. Because of this, he needs monitoring of his activity. Walks need to be short and slow. He actually walks slower than a turtle; and play needs to be in short 5-to-10-minute segments.
Jude needs to be an only dog. He gets along famously with dogs outside the home, but inside his abode, he becomes jealous when another dog has something he wants. Also, in his original home, he got into fights with the other resident EBD.
According to his foster Mom, Jude is amazingly smart and trainable. He is also a typical EBD where mischief sometimes finds its way to him, but he is easily redirected. He adores his humans and has attached himself to a 17-year-old girl in his foster home and follows her everywhere. His daily regimen consists of sleep, cuddle, sleep, cuddle, pets, pets, and an occasional ball.
It’s important to be aware that Jude will need life-long medical care. For his heart, he’ll need regular checkups and echocardiograms. He has a cherry eye that will not be surgically repaired because of the risk of anesthesia. He takes medication twice a day with meals. In addition, he has some skin allergies.
Jude is not meant to be in an active home. He is amazing with routine and allows you to administer his medications with no issues. He loves people to his core, ranging from kids to elderly people. He will just sit and assume that everyone is there to pet him. He is a silly, smoosh-loving bully who deserves a family of his own, committed to him and all his silly behaviors.
As long as their lifestyle is on the calm side and routine-oriented, Jude will do well with most families. Since he is a typical bully, it would be good for him to go with people who have short-nose dog experience. The best environment for him would be either suburban or rural, in a single-family home. He will definitely need air conditioning in the summer.
As always, our foster Moms have the last and best word about their charges:
Jude is the most trainable bulldog I have ever fostered. Though I agree he prefers a home without other dogs, he is a gem outside of the house and around people. He will need a home that understands he has ongoing medical needs. He keeps us laughing and loving all the time with his antics and facial expressions. He also has the cutest little frog legs I have ever seen in my life. We love him dearly and know that our home with two other dogs is not the perfect fit.
