This wrinkly snow-white beauty is Marshmallow! In between naps Marshmallow has been diligently working on her New Year's resolution and has whittled down the list to just one goal...a forever home. Marshmallow's foster home is near Boston, MA, but she is ready to relocate to a permanent residence and already has her toys packed.
The main reason that a forever home is top priority for 2022 is because this gal has bounced around a bit in life, and at 6 years old, she's tired of traveling and relocating. Marshmallow was a breeder for her first 5 years until rescued by a good Samaritan. Although she was well cared for in her previous home, once again, Marshmallow found herself needing to relocate.
The ideal forever home should include someone who enjoys TV time on the sofa with a 47-pound chin rester who likes to be petted and scratched. She will paw at your hand to ask for more attention if you quit too early. Since she enjoys naps and couch time so much, Marshmallow wants a forever person who doesn't get their tinsel in a tangle over snoring and shedding. Let's face it, she's an English Bulldog and full disclosure, Marshmallow snores and sheds. Described as laid back, silly and sweet by her foster mom, Marshmallow loves her crate, loves being doted upon by people and gets along with most laid back dogs as long as they don't show interest in her prized possessions. She currently resides with 3 other dogs and gets along well with 2 of them. With proper introductions and a dog savvy owner, we feel this gal can adjust well to living with almost any other dog. She is untested with cats. She is indifferent to the children in her foster home, but since she is very food motivated, she is not recommended to live with children under 5 years old, as she may be too rough with them.
In terms of environment, Marshmallow is highly adaptable and can fit in just about anywhere - city, suburbs, home, apartment, townhouse and she does not require a fenced yard. If you are a jogger, leave Marshmallow at home, snuggled in her best fleecy in a sunny perch while you exercise and take her for a short leash saunter upon your return. Slow and steady describes her pace. If you can take a dog to your workplace, Marshmallow will most likely snooze while you toil.
Marshmallow is spayed, house trained, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. She had prior entropian eye surgery and requires over the counter lubricating eye drops twice daily. A diligent adopter should have access to a veterinary ophthalmologist for once-a-year checkups to maintain her eye health. She currently takes Benadryl daily for seasonal allergies and has weaned off Apoquel. She also takes a daily joint supplement. Future weight maintenance and continuing on high quality kibble is important to her overall health.
