More About Me

This handsome busy bee is Ray. 6-year-old Ray was taken in by a good Samaritan and later turned over to S.N.O.R.T. due to his high energy level. In his past life, Ray lived in a neglectful situation and therefore keeps a keen eye on his people and doesn't like being left behind. Ray currently lives with his foster family near Philadelphia, PA.

Wherever you go, Ray will want to tag along, and he's quite the little adventure seeker. Ray likes to play in the snow, go on hikes and most of all, chase the ball in his own fenced yard. His ideal person or family would need to enjoy outdoor activities, have a strong throwing arm, again this guy is a ball fanatic and be able to include Ray in their plans. In fact, Ray would enjoy having a voice in the whole planning process. While Ray coexists well with both large and small dogs in his foster home, he would much rather do fun things with people. You won't find him curled up in a doggy bed wasting his day away. He is known to be somewhat of a mischief maker and has been known to chase & jump on the household cats in his foster home.  Although he's never hurt anyone, for some reason, the cats take exception to this behavior, so a home without cats is required for Ray. He gets along with children but may be too energetic for very small ones.

Ray has a winning smile and is at a healthy weight at 32 pounds. He is also neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Ray is house trained but does require a frequent and consistent schedule. Since he's so active, he drinks more and has to potty more often than an average dog.  He knows to sit and give his paw upon asking.

Maybe due to his neglectful past, and maybe just due to his busy personality, Ray would thrive best in an environment with people around who want to engage him in regular activity. Shall we mention playing ball again?  A suburban area with space for him to exercise and minimal outdoor noise would best meet his needs. He has some separation anxiety and will use his words when he wants your attention, so a household where people are around a good part of the time would keep Ray on the calmer side of life. If he is properly stimulated with physical activity during the day, he thoroughly enjoys chilling out on the sofa in the evening, thinking of the next day's adventures.

Ray has bounced around during his 6 years and simply wants to find a trusted human who will devote time to help him flourish. Also a bank account to buy lots of balls. You get the idea.  If you are that active person looking for a short nosed side-kick, apply for Ray today.
