Georgie was tearfully surrendered due to severe allergies that are very difficult to control. She had undergone many various treatments with little success. Georgie has MRSP - Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius which basically means a skin barrier defect related to allergic skin disease. It is also thought that recurrent antibiotic exposure can lead to resistant bacteria. Georgie has been working closely with a Dermatologist and with trial and error has had the most success recently. Her fur once looked like a moth eaten coat and when she first arrived her ears were so swollen she had trouble hearing. Her current combination of treatment is both daily medication, daily wipe downs (and sprays and baths when needed). She will need to be closely monitored and will probably need a variety of treatment throughout her life so being able to financially support all her care should be considered as well.
She has the sweetest, albeit mischief maker personality. She loves to chew bones and squeaky toys but most importantly she likes to chew on her sister. She loves to rumble. She is known as one of the looney tunes in her foster home.
Her meals consists of a nouvel protein (currently Kangaroo with some yummy fresh greens) in a raised bowl. She is a slow eater so she gets her own space to enjoy her meal at her leisure. She prefers a backyard as Georgie is not a fan of going for walks. She will actually walk a little and then take a sit-in stance. Coming back from a walk while carrying her, will get you funny looks. She couldn't care less. Georgie has the typical Frenchie snore but has never barked or made so much as a peep. She is housebroken but has been known to refuse to go outside at the even mention of rain.
She loves to binge watch Netflix while cuddling with you on the couch, especially murder mysteries. While in her foster home, she has learned to not jump on or off the bed/couch but instead waits to be picked up or put down. This is simply for her safety, as being a French Bulldog can be prone to back issues from jumping.
She has never met a stranger although smaller humans confuse her. She is the belle of the ball at the dermatologist and you would really think you are taking her to Disney World and not the vet's office. She loves to sleep in the bed and will need to be told to get up in the morning or she would sleep in. She's a teenager of dogs. She loves dogs and cats and would prefer someone who is home all day as that is what she has had all her life.
