More About Me

Yes, ladies. He is SINGLE and AVAILABLE!

His official name is Mr. Snickers, but some of us are calling him Mr. McDreamy and this head turner is ready for a committed relationship. Mr. Snickers' favorite activities include following his human bestie without getting underfoot, suckling on persons robe or blanket, lying next to you on the sofa without needing to be on your lap, and looking handsome. He sleeps well in a crate at night but would thoroughly enjoy an invitation to the big person bed. Mr. Snickers is fully house trained but can be known to have to be "forced" to go outside in typical Pug fashion.  He rides well in a car. Described as "sweet, calm & loyal" by his foster mama, this mister is the total pug package.

At 7 years old, Mr. Snickers entered rescue due to his prior owner moving into assisted living. He plans on showing homage by finding an equally loving home and promising to live his best life. He gets along with other dogs and bonds immensely with humans.

On the medical end, Mr. Snickers is diabetic and requires insulin twice daily with meals. He's a wonderful patient when it's time for medicine but will need an owner committed to his medical condition by keeping him on a regular feeding schedule (approximately 12 hours apart) and no snacks in between meals to keep his sugars in check. He is currently well controlled.  His sugars are checked twice a week with urine strips. Mr. Snickers is looking for an owner who is committed to staying on top of his medical condition. Mr Snickers is not a fan of walks - probably because it's being outside. He is a homebody. But we all know a daily leash walk and a healthy diet is the best way to avoid becoming a pug-loaf, and at the same time, keeping his sugars in check.

Described as not overly adventurous, Mr. Snickers prefers you to put on your outdoor feet and accompany him when it's time to do his business. He has a fenced yard in foster care, and still wants his mama to come outside with him, so a fenced yard is not a requirement going forward. He was also unsure of stairs at first but being the smart boy he is has mastered them! He would need an owner who is able to lift 22 pounds in the event certain stairways may be too intimidating for him.

The ideal environment for this dreamy boy would involve someone around at least part of the day, or someone who would be able to take him to work with them. Although he is generally quiet and could quickly win hearts of your coworkers, he does bark and it's loud. He will bark at people going by and at dogs. Everyone should notice Mr. Snickers. That is very important.  He loves human company. Mr. Snickers gets along well with other dogs and will play tug a little, but mostly wants to be by his person's side. He thoroughly loves his sofa time watching tv with his person. He would do best in a household with children over 5 years old or adults only. He is untested with cats. Since he is diabetic, it is of utmost importance for his human to be diligent with his medical needs and to keep him on a schedule with meals/meds.
