More About Me

Are you looking for a sweet, playful, and loving pup that will be completely and totally devoted to her family? Then Gianna is your girl, waiting in the wings.

Gianna came into rescue from a shelter in New York, specifically because of her skin and diet issues. She has blossomed in her foster home, delighting all with her robust personality. Performer? She should get an academy award. Couch potato? Turn on your favorite Netflix show and binge away. Outgoing? Bring on the guests and she’ll strike a center pose. Friendly? She loves all people. Dominant? She can be a bit on the bossy side. Laid back? She is mostly pretty easy-going.

Gianna is not exactly up for any marathons, so she’s perfectly satisfied with a daily walk around the block. She’s also smart and loves learning new things.

There is one thing Gianna’s not great at, and that’s hanging with other dogs. In fact, she needs to be in a dog and cat-free home because of her dominance and food aggression issues.

Her health is mostly good. She had eye surgery, which resolved her eye problems, but she will still need eye drops on an ongoing basis. Her skin issues have been controlled with a slight fish diet.

If Gianna becomes your girl, you’ll never have to worry about her becoming bored. In fact, a home with kids for her to play with would be ideal.

Speaking of home – we are looking for people who have experience with short-nosed dogs, especially those who are knowledgeable about potential problems in warm weather. Likewise, Gianna will flourish in a single-family home with a fenced in yard in either the country or suburbs.

Says her foster Mom about this special girl:

Gianna would just love a loving home with people that spend time with her, walk her daily, and know the breed as well as who will just play and love her.
