Hi! I’m Arthur! I am very happy to meet you and look forward to spending lots of time hanging out together.
I came from a backyard breeder who kept me in a metal cage all the time. I couldn’t stand up in it which pretty much messed up my hocks and tendons. It doesn’t stop me, but I don’t have any feeling from my hocks on down, and the skin on my feet is pretty thin, so I have to wear slippers and braces, which is cool because I definitely stand out in a canine crowd.
Speaking of canines – I absolutely love them! I love to romp and play with them and would love to do so night and day. I have a foster dog sis who is very nice because she will let me chew on her bone while she’s holding it in her mouth. I also love toys – balls and chew toys are my fave. Besides playing and chasing my ball, take me for walks or car rides and I’m in a state of bliss!
My foster mom tells me I’m a Velcro dog. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I do follow everyone in my family everywhere, especially her. When I find a home of my home, I hope at least one of my humans will be home with me during the day so I can follow them around too. Or, they could take me with them when they go somewhere.
When my family leaves me for a little while now, I’m very good because I stand at the door the entire time they are gone. I’m told this is a bit unusual, but it makes Mom happy because I don’t get into any mischief while they’re gone.
I guess you could say I am housebroken. I wear diapers and do my business in them quite well. Mom tells me I need them because I can’t really squat to do the poop and pee things like normal. I don’t mind the diapers because then I don’t have to go out in the yucky weather stuff.
When it comes to sleeping, I sort of like a little variety. I love my crate, but I also love my human’s bed. What I don’t like is being in my crate during the day. I cry, so standing by the door works better for me when my humans go out.
Because of the diaper thing, you might want to get a changing table – you know, like the ones for babies? I use one now and it’s neat. Check out garage sales if you don’t have one already.
As long as I have my human, I would love to live in most any place, like a city, suburbs, country, townhouse, or single-family house. I don’t want to live in an apartment because sometimes I can get a bit rowdy, and I would not want to get my human in trouble.
Anyway, I can’t wait to find my own home. Here’s what my foster mom has to say about her Arthur:
Arthur is laid-back for a Frenchie puppy. He is happy-go-lucky. He has a strict routine which he can tell his own time.
