Just like baby bird in the Dr. Suess book, Petunia the French Bulldog pup is searching for her mother. At just 12 weeks old, and all of 8 pounds Petunia thought she may have fallen from a nest when she landed in S.N.O.R.T. rescue. Quickly acclimating to her foster home, baby girl earned the nickname "Bebe" and found her voice. This adorable peanut let us know that she has sass and a winning personality that will keep you grinning all day. She is being fostered in Rochester, N.Y. and foster mom will be quick to let you know that if you want to adopt Petunia, you'd better have eyes in the back of your head, because curious little Bebe can find mischief in 2 seconds flat.
Bebe believes that good things come in small packages. Since she's just a puppy, Bebe loves to explore and loves everyone and everything she meets along the way. The resident dogs are all her friends, the flowers and grass in the backyard are friends, and having just discovered "fetch" Bebe thinks this is the best thing since grain free puppy biscuits. This adventure seeker is sure to find new discoveries every day, for months to come. She is looking for an active person to keep up with her and keep an eye on her.
This resilient gal was born spina bifida and a prolapsed rectum. As a result, she is incontinent and will be in diapers for life. She will need an adopter who embraces her condition and is equal to the challenge of a special needs pup now and in the years ahead. Simply put: Bebe wants a human mom/caregiver. Her antics of play and chatter will be ample rewards for your efforts.
The ideal home for Petunia would be one without shared walls with neighbors, and a home where a caregiver is home most of the time. An adult only home, or one with children older than 5 would be perfect for Petunia. She does not require a fenced yard and is crate trained for the short times you may need to step out. She would love to live with at least one other active dog playmate, as well as getting ample attention from humans. She has never met a cat but is certain she would love them. Playing outside each day without the diaper (AKA: Naked time) would make this girl's dreams come true. After she is done playing, Bebe loves to be cuddled and hugged and known to melt hearts when she looks into your eyes. A home with air conditioning in the summer and warm blankets/sweaters in the winter sounds perfect to Petunia.
