Described as a cuddle bug, Sophie will conform her little body next to you and thoroughly enjoys sleeping in the person bed.
In addition to cuddling with her BFF, meal time is 2nd highest on Sophie's priority list. She is so food driven, that she does not like any other dogs near her bowl or anywhere in the vicinity when it's meal time. Sophie would be best suited as an only dog, or with another confident dog in the household. She plays well with her male China littermate, however she is known to bully the shy resident dog in her current household and resource guard high value possessions. It is for this reason only that she is available for adoption, as her current family truly loves her but realizes they cannot provide the best environment for this tiny queen.
This young lass is in great health. She came to the United States in December 2020 and once visited the pet ER due to sampling 'treats' in the yard which were not edible. Sophie Mae is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She is currently taking Nexguard for flea and tick prevention and Heartguard Plus for heartworm prevention as her only medications.
Sophie tolerates the crate for small intervals, but will bark if left in the crate too long. Ideally, Sophie would love human or confident canine companions around most of the day. She would be over the moon to have a fenced yard in which to romp and play toys, but can also have her needs met by daily walks and or visits to a dog park. Due to her young age, she will need someone willing to provide moderate exercise on a regular basis. She is a fan of chew toys, stuffed toys and especially belly rubs from her BFF. Sophie sometimes forgets that human fingers are not to be nibbled upon. For this reason, she would be best suited to a home without children under 5 years of age.
