Bailey

Bailey

Just look at this handsome devil! Bailey, the 6 year old Boston Terrier, is charming everyone he meets. He is also reported to have multiple girl fur-ends who have admired him from afar. And guess what else?!!! He is officially available for adoption! Bailey is currently making his home in New England with his foster parents, but he is looking for a permanent place to call home.
Bailey is in the prime of his life, and this dapper 6 year old’s favorite activity is to hang out with his people. He can spend hours at a time snuggling, napping or following the outside activity from his favorite window. When Bailey is outside, he is very aware of the activity around him. At his foster home, he discovered there were sheep in the yard, so every day he must visit with two of the ewes that are fascinated by him…and the feeling is mutual. A yard with a fence is not a requirement for Bailey, but is preferred. He enjoys adventuring and exploring, so having his own yard would be great for him.
Most of all Bailey wants to be with his people. At night he is a good boy and sleeps quietly through the night in the bed in his own room, dreaming of his perfect forever home. This 23 pounder loves meal time and treats. He knows “sit” and will come when his name is called.
Bailey was surrendered to S.N.O.R.T. rescue from the breeder due to chronic urinary tract infections and the hopes that he would get the medical treatment necessary to once and for all alleviate the infections & discomfort he has dealt with his entire life. You see, this little mister was born with a congenital medical condition called Hypospaduis. This is a condition in which the opening of the urethra is located on the underside of the penis, not the tip. S.N.O.R.T. had the surgery to correct the problem and reroute Bailey’s plumbing, however he still was getting the uncomfortable infections. A 2nd surgery was performed which resulted in Bailey losing his boy bits in order to avoid continued infections. He is finally comfortable, healed and infection free, but as a result of the surgery, he is urine incontinent and needs to wear diapers for life. Bailey doesn’t mind wearing drawers one bit. He takes a size 4 luvs diaper and thinks he looks pretty snazzy in them, too. He is housetrained to do the ‘big stuff’ outside and he is every bit a happy boy who doesn’t know or care about being a little unique.
Bailey is on a very strict regimen of food and supplements that keep his body functioning properly. It is not complicated, but it must be maintained and his stools monitored or he can have a blockage requiring veterinary assistance.
Bailey is looking for a person or family who has the time to devote to regular diaper changes to avoid recurring urinary tract infections. Bailey tested positive for lyme disease, but he does not have any symptoms of the disease. Overall, he is a happy energetic and affectionate boy. Bailey needs to be in a home where he can be the center of attention – no other dogs, please. We do not know how he would be with cats. He is best suited to children over the age of 8.
This daydream believer is certain that all of his dreams can come true. Now that he’s feeling up to par, he is hopeful that his perfect match awaits. If you are looking for a 23 pound optimist, Bailey is your man! Submit a S.N.O.R.T. adoption application today!
