Benny

Benny
Benny, an ambitious little athlete, is looking for an active adult or family to share daily adventures with. Benny‘s favorite sport is ball chasing and when he’s asleep, we are pretty sure he’s dreaming of chasing his ball then too. He could play fetch for hours if your arm will hold up. You don’t have to be a pitcher or outfielder, but if you have the time and desire to play catch and offer rigorous exercise for this cute sidekick, Benny will reward you with ample snuggles after the day is done. He loves his fleecy floor beds but mostly wants to sleep under the covers with his favorite family member in the overnight hours. Who wouldn’t love waking up to that smile every day? Benny‘s cup of life is always brimming over with enthusiasm.
This handsome boy was tearfully surrendered by his young family after they welcomed a new baby and realized Benny was despondent over the infant getting more attention than he was. Wanting only the best for their first child (Benny), they made the painful decision to surrender him to SNORT in hopes that he will find that forever person with extra time to throw his ball and share outdoor activities. Although he coexisted well with the infant, he is full of energy, has springs for feet, and would be ideally suited to a family with children over 5 years of age, or an active adult only home with a fenced yard. Benny is fully housetrained, 6 years young and weighs 20 pounds. He rides well in a car and is a perfect houseguest who gets along with all the dogs in his foster home. A little shy at first, he may not be the ideal dog to dive in head first at a dog park, and slow introductions to new canines are recommended. He currently enjoys the company of all 3 small dogs in his foster home and appears to be a bit of a ladies’ man, preferring the girls.  Benny has the typical Boston Terrier prey drive, so cats or pocket pets are not recommended.
When Benny first arrived in rescue, he was on prescribed Prozac for anxiety and energy but has since been weaned off this medication. He likely was having adjustment difficulties due to the newcomer baby receiving extra doses of attention which Benny struggled to wrap his head around.  Benny has a clean bill of health and is on no medication.
Described by his foster mom as energetic and playful, Benny is certain to charm everyone willing to throw the ball to him. He’s also a champion snuggler and loves to be touching his person. His ideal environment would be a home without high noise or traffic, as he is known to be a busybee, and vocal at times. When he passes people on the street, he will use his words to express himself. You could say he has admirable communication skills. Another of Benny‘s super skills, is watching TV with you. If he likes your programs, he will sit beside you with interest!  If you are moving around the house, this curious Boston wants to be next to you. Since he’s most content near his people, we think he would be just fine hanging out in a fleecy bed while you work from home. If you work outside the home, a mid-day potty break is all that is needed as long as you keep your ball throwing arm loosened up for when the workday is done.
If you are looking for an optimistic and nimble companion who loves spending time with people apply for handsome Benny the Boston!
