Please meet Bill and Dale, a bonded pair of pugs. Let’s see who they are….
First up -- Bill!
I prefer to think of myself as Wild Bill. Dressing up as a cowboy sounds exciting. I'm an energetic 6 year old looking for adventure wherever I can find it. I currently live in Virginia, but every time I explore the fenced yard at my foster home, I envision galivanting in the wild west. Yee-ha! I was surrendered to S.N.O.R.T. with my fur sibling, Dale and we are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.
As a lawman, I take responsibility for guarding the property. Pertinent skills for my job include keen investigative talents. For example, foster mom left a roll of paper towels within my reach so I 'investigated' them. She frowned...paper towels must be important to her. The pug statue inside the house also posed a threat so I barked at it. Now we all know who's boss man of this house. I'm described as energetic and smart, but also a bit of a mischief maker.
Like other frontiersmen, I enjoy exploring. For my own safety, I require a corral....er...a fence as you flatlanders call it. Even without my gun belt and horse, I can cover some terrain, zoom...zoom. Racing as fast as my feet will carry me is ever so exciting. I'll admit that I am a bit of an athlete and can run faster than most pugs. I'd love to live in an area with enough land for me to be a pretend cowboy.
Overall, I am in great health, but I do require a special diet due to crystals in my urine. Hill's C/D dry is my kibble of choice. I also prefer adults rather than children because I do have a few dislikes which I will sometimes explain with a snip. Even tough guys have their sensitivities and mine include touching my feet, cleaning my ears & face wrinkles. I'm also not fond of getting shots.
Some of my obedience skills include: Sit, Wait, Come. It's fun to practice these skills with reward treats in the yard. I'm amenable to learning more skills, with proper treats of course. I value treats and kibble to the degree that feeding me separately from other dogs is best. I enjoy the company of other small dogs, especially my brother, as long as they don't get near my food.
Now onto Dale!
There’s nothing like a cuddle-bug pug to cozy up with on these long days spent at home, and I would just love to be your 5 year old lap ornament for the long haul. Just like many happy-go-lucky pugs, I love my company be it human, feline, or other canine. My foster mom likes to say I am sweet, submissive, friendly and laid back. In other words, I am one easy-going dude!
I have no aspirations for heavy sports activities and I am perfectly content with just one laid-back walk a day and then I can just lay back and watch my brother do the zoomies. I do have ummmm, a tendency to mark but I am working on that. I am crate trained and that also helps to keep my marking under control.
A skin yeast infection on my neck and chest requires medicated baths; I currently get one every 4 days. I am also on a second round of antibiotics to clear up the infection.
My favorite thing? To be with my people and my brother. My foster mom likes to brag - “Dale is sweet-tempered, gets along with all he meets, and would like to be a lap dog.”
We would thrive in just about any environment including suburb, rural, and single family house but a must is a fenced in yard (says Wild Bill). Owners who have experience with short-nosed dogs are preferred. If you are a pug lover who is looking for an energetic mischief maker and sweet as pie chill cuddle bug to share adventures - please apply to meet us!
