My proper English name is Briar Rose, but my friends call me Rosie. You may start straight away by calling me "Rosie". Right now I live in York, PA with my foster family but I would very much like my New Year's wish to come true....to find a permanent home.Â
I'm about four years old and I am an English Bulldog mix. I'm on the larger side for the breed, weighing in at 67 pounds. In addition to finding a permanent home in 2019, one of my other goals this year is to lose a few pounds. My past is a bit of a mystery and at times I was scared. You see, I was found bumbling around the street by the constable (or police as you say in America) and brought to a shelter before I came to S.N.O.R.T. But that was last year. 2019 is certainly going to be better and brighter.Â
I understand some of you may think English Bulldogs just like to sit on their bum all day. I'd like to set the record straight on that issue. Although I am described as a calm gal and may enjoy a mid day nap on occasion, I also love activities! If my forever person(s) had time to play fetch with me, take me on a few short leash walks a day...even a super short jog, I'd be a very happy lady Rose indeed. You see, spending time with people is just about my favorite activity. I am a great passenger and ride well in a car, as long as you have a ramp to help me navigate the in and out part. Perhaps we could spend time together on your job, or on vacations. I'm even thrilled with a simple trip to the pet store to find me a new stuffy to sleep with. The possibilities are many.Â
Adults are my most favorite of all people. I do require a home without children, and I am untested with cats. My foster mom will tell you that I'm indifferent to other dogs, so I'm A-OK with being your only girl. I am 100% house trained, as I consider myself a proper lady in the house at all times and have never had an accident while in foster care. I'm also spayed and microchipped. The S.N.O.R.T. people noticed that I have some shoulder and hip discomfort, so I take over the counter supplements to help with this. I can use stairs, but ideally, a forever home without a lot of stairs, would be best for me, and help keep me safe as I age.Â
In addition to losing weight, and finding a forever home, I have one more goal for 2019. I'd like to enroll in obedience classes. I already know a few commands, but I'm eager to further my education and show you how brilliant I can become. We could conduct home schooling, or formally with other students in the classroom setting.Â
As you can see, I have a lot of motivation for a bulldog. Once I secure a proper home, I feel I can work on losing weight and furthering my education. Are you the person to help this Rose blossom into her full potential? If so, submit a S.N.O.R.T. adoption application today!Â
