When I was a puppy, I dreamed of racing and jumping and playing. Now that I’m semi-retired, I dream of frequent walks with sniffs (of course) and daytime naps while resting my paw on my favorite antler chew. I’m currently living in Elverson, PA with my foster family, but I am ready to find a forever home with a person or family who enjoys a laid-back lifestyle in which I can relax. Now that I’ve turned 11, my speed racing days are through, but I do still enjoy moderate activity with my favorite people.
One of my favorite activities is leash walking. If you are looking for a handsome 34lb sidekick to accompany you on your daily strolls, count me in. I don’t have a pedometer, but I can easily get 6,000 steps a day or more. In fact, people say I don’t look a day over 8, for which I credit my exercise regime. Foster mama is also working on some basic obedience lessons with me and she says I am a great student. I’m looking forward to wooing my future adopter with these fancy new skills. Pleasing people is high on my priority list.
If I were a person, I would have to wear glasses. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be. I saw the doctor for a wellness exam while here at S.N.O.R.T. and was told that I have “immature cataracts” which will need monitored as I age. For now, I depend on my human partner to be my second set of eyes. I also startle easily due to my limited eyesight. In fact, I was surrendered to S.N.O.R.T. because I got so startled by a repairman that I did bite him in the hand. I realize this was a serious mistake, and I am working on mending my behavior. My prior owner will tell you this was an isolated incident and my foster mom will second that. Other than my eyesight, I’m in good health. I have been diagnosed with a lipoma on my belly, but no treatment is recommended. Since I’m an older fellow, I will require frequent potty breaks. Every 4 hours is a perfect amount of time for me to be let out, but don’t worry, I sleep just fine all night through. If you could work from home, or if like me, you are semi-retired, my schedule is easy to work around. I just want to be your one and only, will you be mine?
Foster ma will tell you that I am outgoing, easy to train, love to be around people and that I’m the perfect combination of busy bee/couch potato. Are you ready to welcome an active senior boy into your daily regime? If so, get your pedometer ready and submit a S.N.O.R.T. adoption application for me!
