CiCi the Boston Terrier is looking forward to her birthday party in April. Although she has no interest in driving, 16 is milestone birthday worthy of celebrating for this lovely senior. As CiCi reviews the invitation list for her party, she also yearns for a forever home with someone looking forward to lazy days at home with a 19-pound sidekick who likes to follow them around the house. CiCi is being fostered near Richmond, VA and is available for adoption.
This little girl was surrendered due to having accidents in the house, however, she has only had minimal accidents in her foster home and adjusted quickly to a routine. Due to her age, she does need to be let outside to do her business on a regular schedule and she very much prefers a fenced yard to peacefully roam at her own pace. Outdoor explorations are near the top of CiCi's favorite things list.... right next to planning birthday parties.  CiCi lives with pugs and bullmastiffs in her foster home and will sometimes be found in a fleecy dog bed with one of the resident dogs. Her foster mom will tell you that CiCi is laid back and easy to train. We think she simply wants to please her human and feel secure in return.
CiCi has a few age-related conditions including some hearing and vision impairments. As a result, she startles easily and is very much wanting a patient caregiver who understands and embraces elder dog behavior. This polite senior is super smart and non-vocal. She takes daily eye drops for a condition called endothelial degeneration and she has cataracts. She also has several lipomas (benign fatty tumors). Although CiCi will admit that growing old is not for sissies, birthday parties can be enjoyed at any age. So far the party arrangements include 8 dog friends and a total of 16 mini pup-cakes each with one candle to celebrate the momentous occasion. Gifts are not requested, since toys are for puppies and youngsters. A well deserved nap is sure to follow the festivities.
Described as quiet and well adjusted, CiCi would do best in a routine oriented environment without small children under 5 years of age. She adjusted quickly to her foster home living arrangements and would like a BFF to follow around the house and hang out with in the evenings. She gets along with dogs of all sizes in her foster home ranging in age from 7 - 15 years old. CiCi is pretty much a 'go with the flow' type of gal who simply wants to live out her golden years in a loving home.
