More About Me

“It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn't understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him and his world would be whole again... And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.”

Looking for added meaning to your life?  Look no further than our very own Comet.

Comet is a 5 year old Boston Terrier who came to SNORT by way of a shelter.  He is described by his foster mom as being smart, funny and loving and without a mean bone in his body.  Comet can be a couch potato, but don’t be mistaken - he has spurts of activity and loves to play with toys.  He’s a snuggler and loves the company of other dogs.

Comet is special needs as he has kidney disease.  His kidney disease is currently stable, but he will require prescription diet, regular subcutaneous fluids administered by his new owner, heart medication and blood tests for life.  Adopters should be aware that his prescription food alone costs approximately $200 per month and they must be committed financially to this as well as the rest of his veterinary care. But Comet is so worth it.

Comet’s ideal home comes in many forms.  If you’re a single person, older couple, younger couple, live in the suburbs or country, house or townhouse - Comet can adapt to your family. He loves to play with his ball and a home with a fenced in yard would be a great feature although he does well on a leash as well. Although every dog would prefer you at home all day, Comet would be ok at home alone for a couple of hours while you work.

Because Comet was shuffled around a bit in his previous life, he needs a stable environment to call home. If you think that you can give him this, apply to adopt him today!  You won’t be sorry that you did!
