More About Me

How did they pick a name like Cujo for sweet li'l me? People are funny, but I sure do like them anyway. Right now I live in Lancaster County, PA with my foster parents and a boy and girl pug, but I'm ready to move on to permanent housing arrangements. I was surrendered to S.N.O.R.T. because my dad entered the military and gave me to his mother. She contacted S.N.O.R.T. because she wanted me to find the best possible home. I've been jostled around a bit lately, and I'm ready to settle down.

Let me tell you about myself....as you know, my name is Cujo. I'm nothing like that scary dog in the movie though. I'm a 7 year old, 18 pound, Boston Terrier boy with a winning personality and a handsome mug. I am a bit unique for a Boston, with a lot of white in my face and some perfectly placed spots in all the right places. I love to hang out on the deck or in the yard. I really am an outdoorsman. I consider myself a wildlife enthusiast and enjoy watching rabbits, birds and squirrels. I get along with everybody...dogs, cats...but especially people! I tend to play rough with toys and I also jump to show you how happy I am, so I'm looking for a home with older children or adults, and not wee little people who I could accidentally knock over with my enthusiasm. Every day when you get up, I will fetch a toy to help you greet the day.

I have a large skill set. In addition to getting along with everyone, I ride well in a car, so I could even accompany you to work if you have a safe place for me to hang out. I'm also great at bath time and ever so gentle in taking treats from your hand. I love snack and meal time. I have great recall (unless I'm watching rabbits, birds or squirrels) and a fairly large vocabulary which even includes some hand signals for stay and wait. I consider myself an above average student, but my favorite subject is recess. During recess, I especially enjoy a romp in the yard so a fenced yard would be such a bonus in my world. If you like a short stroll, I'm ok with that, and I walk well on a leash, but I'm not a fan of long leash walks. I'd so much prefer to romp around without a leash.

My foster mom will tell you that I am comical and friendly. I am the perfect combination of busy, but also relaxed. A good game of fetch, or tug of war, followed by a well deserved nap is my idea of a fun day. My 'most best toy' is my lizard by Outward Hound, but I'm fond of tennis balls and squeaky balls and also stuffies. When the sun goes down, so do I. I love hanging out on the furniture at night but my favorite place to sit is on your lap. When I fall asleep, I do tend to snore, but just a little. I am crate trained but certainly welcome the opportunity to sleep in bed with you, or on a cozy chair with my favorite fleecy.

When I first came to S.N.O.R.T. I had a sore bum and needed to have a polyp removed. I'm low risk for recurrence of polyps. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which requires a high fiber diet and an over the counter fiber supplement daily. Because of my condition, I need frequent potty breaks but I know to do the 'big stuff' outside. I am mostly housetrained, but in the house, I wear a belly band to help me avoid sprinkles. I sleep thorough the night without issue. I am up to date on my vaccines and I'm neutered and microchipped.

Most of all what I want you to know is that I'm looking for a forever companion. I thrive on attention. In return, I promise to make you smile and laugh and be your loyal friend. If you think you are my soulmate, fill out a S.N.O.R.T. adoption application today!
