Fenway is a super-sweet, handsome 32 lb. French Bulldog who recently came into SNORT looking to start his new life. Fenway is 6 1/2 year old cutie pie with special needs. If you remember Brownie, who is now loving life as Estelle in her forever home (and is also his foster sister), she has similar issues as this little man.
This special guy is paralyzed and gets around with help of his awesome wheelchair. His mobility issue comes from IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). Dogs with IVDD can fall on one end of the spectrum with mild pain or with paralysis on the other end, and most dogs with the diagnosis fall somewhere in between.
Fenway is incontinent and will be for the rest of his life. His bladder must be manually expressed. When the time comes, he will be looking for a family familiar with his disease, what it entails, and the fact that additional flares up can occur. He also suffers from severe separation anxiety. He isn’t a fan of all dogs, but he likes his pug foster siblings and loves his furry foster sister who also motors around in a spiffy wheelchair!
Fenway loves to snuggle and love on his people. He pants a lot since he has trouble calming down but in between the bouts of excitement he likes to give kisses. His foster mama is waiting to see the playful side of him that she knows is in there, she believes he is too worried to be his true self, but it will emerge in time.
We all know that Fenway is just different, not less and we love him just the way he is!
