Figue (Fig) is a 2.5-year-old, 21-pound French Bulldog who is finally healthy, thriving, and ready to find the right forever home. Fig is affectionate, funny, incredibly expressive, and forms very strong bonds with her people. She has a big personality packed into a small body and brings constant entertainment and love to her home.
Fig had a difficult start in life and struggled with severe malabsorption, which caused chronic vomiting, diarrhea, and weight loss. With specialized care, proper nutrition, supplements, and consistency, she is now stable and thriving. She MUST remain on her current proven diet of novel protein kibble (easily ordered from Chewy or Amazon) with supplements and vegetables. Her future family must be fully committed to maintaining what works for her.
Fig has also undergone cervical IVDD surgery (C2–C5). A success. She is playful, active, and acts like a happy puppy. She needs an experienced home that understands long-term spinal health, safe body mechanics, and thoughtful activity choices. She does best with fun, playful interaction, but try to limit super high-impact play – even though she will disagree and try.
Fig requires another thoughtful playful dog of similar size in her home. She has always lived with other dogs and relies on that companionship. She enjoys children but would do best with older, sturdy kids who can handle her enthusiastic affection.
Fig came into SNORT with a history of coprophagia (eating stool). She has made significant progress and will walk away and is more interested in better treats lol.
A secure fenced yard is required. She needs regular, easy access to a yard for bathroom breaks and exercise. The fence should be secure and at least 5 feet high.
Fig is crate trained and thrives with structure. She loves her crate and will run to it on command. Crating keeps her safe and prevents her from ingesting unsafe items or unsupervised activities when you go out. A home comfortable with crating is required. It’s not a punishment but a safe place.
She is housebroken but will need consistency and patience during transitions into a new home.
Fig is not suited for apartment or city living. She can be quite loud when you first come home excited to see you. She is learning to walk on a leash and will require continued training. She would do best in a suburban or rural environment.
At home, Fig is an extremely affectionate dog who LOVES to sleep in bed with her people (preferably under the covers) but with stairs and ramps and no jumping on and off beds and couches for long term healthcare. She thrives on close human contact and companionship.
