More About Me

When I grow up, I want to be a superhero. I'm already learning to run super-fast and I'm certain I will be able to leap tall sofas in a single bound in no time at all.  My name is Fred and I'm just 5 months old weighing in at 11 pounds. I was surrendered to S.N.O.R.T. with my sister, Ethel, when our breeder opted to exit the breeding business and wanted to see us adopted by someone familiar with the pug breed. We do not need to be adopted together, but I would very much like a young active dog playmate and a fenced yard in my forever home. I'm living near Baltimore, MD right now, but I am available for adoption and willing to relocate.

As a superhero in training, I will need an active person willing to exercise with me. We could play fetch in the fenced yard, take a walk or you could chart my lightning-fast racing skills and applaud appropriately. I'm pretty active, so you will need to keep up with me and perhaps have eyes in the back of your head when it comes to obedience training. Foster mom is trying to teach me 'sit' but I'd much rather practice pug wrestling than learn vocabulary words.

I currently live with other canines and human children (ages 5 and 7) and love everybody.  Since I'm a wee pup, I don't know much about boundaries yet, so sometimes other dogs don't know what to think of me. I prefer canine siblings who don't mind their personal space being invaded regularly. In fact, only of my favorite games is "steal the bone" from Ethyl's mouth. If the superhero thing doesn't pan out I might become a magician. I can make lots of things disappear.

I'm a healthy pup and will need a neuter after adoption. As the years roll on, I may need the pug nostril surgery - to keep me in top physical shape for my various superhero duties.

If you work from home like my foster mom, you would be able to continue to help me on the potty-training schedule. My current schedule is every 2 hours during the day, except for nap time which is usually 10-2pm. Naps are essential to maintaining a strong mind and body. I really don't understand why this potty thing is a big deal to the humans. It doesn't even require any magnificent abilities. If it's a requirement, so be it. At nighttime, I am a good sleeper. I like dozing off in foster dad's lap as the day winds down. I think he might be a superhero too. He has strong arms.

To sum it up, I don't know many obedience commands and I don't particularly want to further my education but as a superhero I will need to represent all pugs and set a fine example, so I'm willing to put the effort forth with your help. I'm guaranteed to put a smile on your face and I'm told I'm as handsome Clark Kent. If you would like to spend your life with this handsome superhero trainee, apply for Fred the black pug pup!
