Frenchie

Frenchie

Bonjour, big, beautiful world of humans! I’m Frenchie, and I’m so, so happy to meet you! You might think I got my name because I’m a French Bulldog; but really, it’s because like any self-respecting Frenchman, I am a hopeless romantic with a deep affection for delicious treats and a genuine love of the good life! I also look very handsome in a beret, if I may say so myself.

My dream date with you would be a nice long walk where we’d stop and smell all the roses, and you’ll see the joie de vivre in my every energetic step as we explore this amazing world together. Even with all that distraction, I will always have my eye on you. I won’t even check out other dogs, unless they bark at me first, then I might have to tell them to leave my date alone, because I have a bit of a jealous streak and want you all to myself.

When we get home, let’s snuggle on the couch and spend time with our friends and family. I know that most humans are a package deal, and I have plenty of love to go around to our whole pack! I do still have that jealous streak, though, so I may act out a little bit and try to look tough if my time with my number one human gets interrupted. The trick is for the interrupter just to give me attention when I run up to them, and then I remember that I love everyone and it’s all good again!

Do you want to know the secret of how I came to be so full of life and amour? Well, I’m seven now, and I didn’t always have it this good. I lived for a long time with a breeder who didn’t treat me very kindly, even though I tried really hard to be a good boy who’s affectionate, playful, and smart—I’m potty trained and crate trained and everything! So, I know the pain of not being loved, and my mission now is to make sure that no one around me ever feels that way. And now that I’m retired, I’m learning that there’s a whole world of love out there for me to give and to get, and it fills me with absolute glee!

Because so much is new to me, I don’t really know how to play with toys yet, though I do like tug of war, but I have the most fun still by playing chase around the house and heaping affection on anyone I can get my paws on! I might be a bit too rough and tumble for little humans, so I should be in a house only with kids over five. But other than that, I’m easy and could live anywhere!  My foster mama says I’m always happy as long as I’m included, so I would definitely like not to be alone for very much of the day. I am an excellent coworker for my foster parents: I keep them company while they work from home and will follow them around if they get up, so they never feel alone!

So, if the idea of a “we” makes you say, “oui!,” apply to adopt me today, s’il-vous-plaît! I can hardly wait to adore you and be your forever Frenchie!
