Will you be my Walen-time...ugh...I mean VAL-en-tine! these big words are so difficult for a special little tyke like me. My name is Hamlet and I'm an orphan pug just 8 weeks old looking for my forever love this Walen-time's day. I was surrendered by my breeder because I have a crooked lip. That is why saying big words is extra hard for me. And I'm just 3.7 pounds, so I'm pretty sure I was the smallest of all my littermates. You see, I was born with a cleft lip (my palate is normal), so even though I had a tough start in life and needed to be tube fed, I am now a healthy bouncing boy looking for playmates!
Right now I live with my foster mama and her resident dogs near Philadelphia, PA. Guess what? There is a pug and a French Bulldog here which makes me so excited; but when I try to play with them, they are not interested because I'm so much younger. I'm convinced these two have something against an active lifestyle. I've even resorted to biting the pug's tail to get his attention, but to no avail. ho, hum. So, I was wondering if maybe, just maybe, I could go to a forever home with a pug or similar sized dog who likes to play with puppies. Imagine the mischief we could get into...how exciting. It matters not if you have a girl or boy dog, or some of each, just as long as they want to play nice with me. Because of my small size, I would be best suited in a forever home with older children, or adults only since I tend to get under foot.
When I'm not playing with friends, I can busy myself with chew toys. If I get bored, I could play with your shoe laces instead. I really am easy to please. Foster mama sometimes takes me to work with her and I am quite the conversation starter. The people there say nice things and call me, cute, loving and ALL puppy. If I can't accompany you to work, maybe you could work from home sometimes, or have a dog walker come to check in on me. Because of my age and size, I do need frequent potty breaks.
I'm agreeable to getting an education and know a few dogs who have gone through classes such as Potty 101, Puppy Manners, and Intro to Leash Walking. Not to brag, but I AM already crate trained at just 8 weeks old. I have a thirst for knowledge and think I can master canine classes and maybe even enroll in Speech 101 to help me better pronounce Walen-time's Day. Other than the speech impediment, my cleft lip does not cause any current problems, (some say it even adds to my cuteness) but I'm told when I get big boy teeth, I am at a heightened risk of growing extras which would probably need to be extracted. I also will need a neuter when I am old enough.
It doesn't matter to me if you live in the city or suburbs, have a fenced yard, or prefer to take me on walks or exercise in the park, I just like to embrace adventures and want to find that special someone to share them with. If you are seeking true love this Walen-time's Day, submit your S.N.O.R.T. adoption application for me today!
