Young Jabba the French Bulldog mix is a diligent student, but needed to repeat his coursework in basic manners this summer at camp S.N.O.R.T.
After mastering commands such as "sit" "stay" and "crate", Â Jabba now is focusing on softening up his interpersonal skills. You see, this boy likes to play, and doesn't yet know his strength and size. At just a year old and 40 pounds of muscle, he was surrendered due to rough play and excitability around the children of the house. His strength and puppy enthusiasm will require a household of adults only as well as experienced leadership from his people.
Typical of a youngster, Jabba loves toys and is known to tear up stuffies in no time flat. He also enjoys chewies and Nylabones or any other toy that another dog finds interesting. He gets along well with dogs of equal energy and would do well in a household with another playful pup. He may be a little too inquisitive for cats. A fenced yard is preferred, but Jabba also enjoys leash walks and is proud to say he is a B student with leash walking skills. He tends to be protective of his owner and will need to be supervised when meeting strangers.
Jabba's foster mom describes him as a good through and through. He is sweet, loving and dedicated to his humans. "He is an awesome boy and one of the easiest fosters I have ever had - but he needs direction and a strong leader. He is a 'bully in a China shop' personality but responds well with his special harness that I leave on him. He is sweet, loving and as dedicated as any dog can be; and very goofy and loveable."
