More About Me

If there’s such a thing as the perfect combination of characteristics in a dog, Jaxon has them. Looking for an active boy who loves to play with you and go for long walks? Check. Or perhaps you want a snuggle-bunny curled up next to you on the couch. Check. A dog you can take to work because he lays quietly at your feet? Yep. How about a pup who loves other dogs, people, and kids? You got it.

At 10 months, Jaxon is still loaded with puppy energy, but it’s energy he lavishes on the loves of his life – his peeps. Despite a sad beginning – his owner went off to rehab and their family took him in, but their resident dog didn’t accept Jax and kept acting aggressively towards him – he is a buoyant, happy, affectionate and FUN little guy!!He has no guarding issues and you can take whatever treasure he has without a problem. However, he also has no fear and thinks nothing of taking a coveted treasure from a canine companion, thus something to watch.

You’ll never be bored when Jaxon is around. His personality bursts with wonder and fun. He loves to perform, is constantly busy (except for when he collapses with exhaustion into a deep sleep), loves all people, places, and things, is friendly, smart and easy to train and needs lots of exercise every day.

A fenced-in yard is a must for Jaxon – a place he can zoom and vroom while staying safe and secure, and where he can play with his ball, tug toys or any toy that captures his attention at the moment. His foster family calls him Turbo because he runs so fast that he sometimes wipes out. When he has completely exhausted himself, he craves you – your couch, your lap, your bed, the rug by your feet.

Simply put, Jax wants to be with you, 24/7. And we want him to continue being a bed buddy and a couch companion with his new family. He does okay in his crate, but will whimper, cry and paw to get out for 10 minutes or so. Being in a crate all day is out of the question.

Jaxon has gotten used to having family around him all the time since Covid hit, and we’d love it if he had a home where someone was home working or with him most of the day. He’d do great with most any loving owner, and in a suburban or rural environment. Townhouses and condos may not work well because though he isn’t talkative all the time, he does bark at times. Also, a city may be too stimulating.

This healthy pup is looking for his people. Here’s what his foster Mom says about him: “Jax is the perfect blend of fun and love. He LOVES his people and would be happiest with a family who can exercise him but also allow him to be the cuddly little guy he is. He is an amazing dog that any family would be lucky to have.”
