Rollin’ with Kiyoshi!!
Kiyoshi is a lovable 4 year old Frenchie with limited mobility. She was surrendered to SNORT when she lost the use of her back legs and her owner couldn’t afford the emergency back surgery. Surgery was performed to relieve her pain and hopefully regain her ability to walk. The neurologist gave Kiyoshi a 20% chance to walk again, but we haven’t given up on her! She is currently receiving physical therapy and using her wheels; Kiyoshi can stand for short periods of time, but she will likely never regain the lost mobility. Due to her paralysis, Kiyoshi is both urine and fecal incontinent. She does need her bladder expressed, and luckily, is a very regular pooper, going once a day while being expressed.  Her bladder does need to be expressed 4-5x a day, to avoid UTI’s.  She does take some meds and supplements to support her bladder. Kiyoshi is fantastic to work with and knows the routine.
Despite losing her mobility, Kiyoshi has never lost her kind, sweet heart. She is a lover to her core. She is happy around other dogs and people. While she’s just learning how to play with her foster brother, she is always ready to snuggle!  She can fit into almost any living environment or family, as long as some one is around most of the day to express her bladder.  She fancies herself a great guard dog, and does bark when she hears people outside, but turns into a love sponge when they come in. She would be happy to go to work, or the store, or Starbucks… anywhere that there is attention!
Kiyoshi’s absolute favorite thing is going on walks in her stroller- she bounces up and down with joy and excitement the whole way! She also loves chewing on her benebones.
