What better buddy could you ask for than a faithful gentleman Boston Terrier? Mr. Burns, a 10-year-old, 24 lbs., neutered Bostie came to S.N.O.R.T. Rescue after his former owners divorced. He’s looking for a forever family without young children since he does have some hearing and vision challenges, but would welcome another calm, easygoing canine companion. And cats? He could care less.
Mr. Burns is the perfect mix of couch potato and neighborhood walking companion. He enjoys his daily walks around the block with his foster parents. He likely won’t be up for hiking but he’s more than happy to join you in more laid-back adventures like rides in the car, running around the yard, giving kisses – that kind of thing -- and would make the perfect office companion.
Mr. B loves the company of his people more than anything. He has mild separation anxiety and staying home alone isn’t his favorite, but he’s not destructive. He’ll just give a whine or bark when he’s a bit stressed. He’d absolutely benefit from a structured routine and will take some time to adjust to his new home, as any dog would.
This Boston is a smart cookie too. Keep him on a regular feeding and potty schedule and he has no trouble with housebreaking. His foster family has also taken the time to crate train him as well.
As mentioned, Mr. B has some older-dog issues, but none that slow him down or that require daily medication. He has a significant cataract in his left eye that limits his vision and some hearing loss. He doesn’t startle easily, but those around him should keep these issues in mind – hence, why no young children would be ideal for his forever home. His best match could be with a single person or a couple with older children or in an adult-only home in a suburban area where he can be the laid-back dog he is and enjoy his yard space.
Mr. Burns is a catch. Says his foster mom, “He is an all-around great dog – kind and trusting – and age is really just a number with him. He would be an amazing partner in crime for someone looking for a best friend.”
