More About Me

With the smell of Spring flowers in the air, my mind turns to yesteryear when I was a vision in black and dreamed of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Ms. Maisel, but my friends call me 'Roxey'. My full stage name is Ms. Roxey Dorothy Vaughn Carmichael Maisel. As a young pug, I had high dreams, and for most of my life, all was going fine although I never quite found the spotlight, or the stage. Now at age 12 I find myself alone due to my people divorcing and placing me in this orphanage in Bristol, PA called S.N.O.R.T.

It's a bit overwhelming being uprooted at my age, but I'm ever hopeful of a soulmate single person or family to step forward and adopt me so that I don't have to be an orphan anymore. I thrive around people, especially men! My foster mom will tell you that I am a cuddle bug and easy going, but of course I still have some pug spunk. I love other dogs and really would like to have them in my forever home. I also like cats and older children...as long as they are respectful. I'm a gentle soul and prefer a slower pace in my life now.

My average day consists of a few naps and then bursts of energy and floor play with socks or my bone. I don't move so fast anymore and do have some difficulty walking. I'm only 17 pounds, so if you could pick me up to go up and down steps, I would be ever so appreciative. I feel safe and secure in my human's arms or on a carpeted flat surface. I've had acupuncture and found that it has helped my mobility. I know down the road I may need even more assistance to get around, but for now, I'm just looking for a home without a lot of steps and a willing person to carry me when necessary.

Since I don't walk so great (I have been told I have a bit of a John Wayne gait), a fenced yard is ideal, that way you can just take me out for my business. I can’t go for walks for potty breaks. I am incontinent as I don’t do number 2 well. It can just sneak out but my foster family says I’m surprisingly clean with it. Usually twice a day. Now as for going number 1 - I need assistance for bladder expressing so I don’t get infections on regular intervals. I can sometimes pee on my own but you will need to follow up to make sure it all came out. Someone who can do this every 4 hours or so is pretty important so you need to be around or have someone else be able to help me. I’m extremely elegant about it. I am proud to say I never have indoor number 1 accidents, but, when I have to go, I have to go!  So, a house with a backyard is a must - no carrying me down stairs and out of an apartment. I don’t leak as my foster family likes to embarrassingly say. My foster family says I’m super easy to manage and worth any extra effort. I have a lot of fans.

I have a high level of self importance and I know dreams can come true, even if my first dream of stardom didn't quite pan out. Now I dream of a forever home with a fenced yard and a person around most of the time to be my soulmate and pet me and watch old Hollywood movies with me. Are you my perfect match?
