What is cuddly, cute, and an original couch potato? Enter Ollie! Ollie likes humans, dogs, cats, and his large rubber ball! Actually, he loves anything hard he can chew on. However, soft, mushy toys are out because he’ll eat them! A smart but submissive baby, Ollie is not as active as most 1 year-olds but he does need mental stimulation. He has no bite or aggressive temperament issues but be careful when playing with him because he can catch fingers just for lack of being careful.
This pup came into rescue from his breeder who discovered he was incontinent. Sometimes he dribbles urine when he is stressed, but the main issue is fecal incontinence. He poops most nights, but his feces are solid and easy to clean up. Wearing a diaper is also an option. But during the day, get him used to
going outside at certain times and praising him when he does poop.
Ollie also has an issue where the tip of his penis sticks out a small bit all the time. He’s gone through several surgeries to correct it, and it is better now. Still, he’ll need to have it wiped off and lubricated if it becomes dry. The cause of these 2 health issues has not been determined, but his new humans will need to keep on the lookout for any future issues with his nerves or spine.
Cuddling, cradling, and being carried around. These 3 are the things Ollie loves most. At just 13 pounds, it’s easy to cart him with you.
Do know that if you are to be Ollie’s human, he requires more work than a typical dog. Any small items left on the floor or soft toys will find their way into his tummy, and he has in fact already had one foreign object surgery. Because he cannot be trusted not to eat things, he needs to be confined to a
small space when left alone. Also, his owners will have to very careful in the toys they choose for him. Ollie will do well in homes with a single person, older couple, younger couple, and homes that have other, and are experienced with, dogs. City, suburb, rural, townhouse or single-family home situations
are ideal. Since our Ollie friend has a rather shrill bark, he might get any apartment dwelling owners in trouble.
Despite the challenges he’ll arrive with, Ollie is a very special fellow. Here’s what his foster Mom has to say about him: Ollie is the cutest, sweetest boy. He loves people and just wants attention all the time. He is a great companion and will bring a family so much joy.
If you can give this boy the wonderful home he deserves, please put in an application!
