My name is Rhee and I'm interested in applying for the position of "full-time/permanent pug" in your household. I have a long list of qualifications outlined in my biography below. I am the perfect age of 5 and live with my foster family in Vermont. I am available to begin my new position immediately.
My foster mom describes me as affectionate, active and playful. I live with children ages 7 to 18 and get along well with all of them. I also live with dogs of all different sizes and socialize well with them too. I can be just a teensy bit bossy to other female dogs so I don't think sharing my dog bed with with a dominate female dog would be my best fit. Laid back girls and boys are perfect companions for me.
I am house-trained and crate-trained, which I know is a strong skill set for any applicant seeking the "full-time/permanent pug" position. I also know a few commands to impress your friends. I know 'sit' and 'paw' and am a quick learner if you want a student to tutor. Foster mom will let you know that I have zero aggression issues and thoroughly enjoy having people and dogs to spend quality time with me.
Of particular interest to me is the environment of the new job. I thrive in suburban areas since I enjoy quiet leash walks - particularly in natural settings. I consider it my job to protect my person, so fear not if a trash can or light pole is in your path...I will bark to scare it away. I'm trying to be less vocal & more trusting of things I see along my path, but I will need someone to continue working with me on this subject. I also enjoy car rides, but not in a busy city or where there are a lot of distractions/pedestrians. Rural or suburban areas are perfect for me. As you may suspect, I also enjoy jazz or easy listening as opposed to heavy metal. One tiny peccadillo that I have is that I need you to earn my trust. New people who try to scoop me up make me very nervous, so slow introductions and patient humans are essential for me to reach my full potential and become a secure member of the household.
When I first came to S.N.O.R.T. rescue, I needed retina surgery on my eyeball. You can see how great my eyeballs look now, but I need to be careful with roughhousing as I have a heightened risk for a possible retinal detachment if I am not monitored carefully. I can do all sorts of fun dog things, just no vigorous head shaking or tug of war. I am nearly finished with my eye medicine and do not require any maintenance medications. I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
If you feel that my personality and qualifications outlined above would be an asset to your household, then please consider me for the position of "full-time/permanent pug" by completing your S.N.O.R.T. adoption paperwork today! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
Rhee The Pug
