I am a happy, cuddly, fun-loving Frenchie who adores snuggling with my peeps and lying next to my dog-buddies. My foster-mom says I am the happiest dog she has ever known, and I am glad I can make her and Dad laugh. In fact, when Mom or Dad says my name, I erupt into my quite exuberant “Happy Dance.”
I’m also really good. I can stay in the house all day, as long as I get a potty break after 4 hours, and I won’t have an accident, chew your shoes, or do any of the naughty things some dogs do. But there is one thing I do that worries my foster folks a whole lot. I bolt. Open the front or back door and I’m out like a flash. So, my new parents need to take extra-careful precautions by either gating or crating me every time they open a door.
I do have a few issues I need to tell you about. I’ll start by saying none of these issues slow me down. One thing is that my vision isn’t so great. I only have one eye and I can’t see out of it very well. This means I need 2 different eye meds several times a day.
I also have a ton of allergies – like really serious allergies that my new parents will need to treat carefully and faithfully. Every 4 weeks I need a special allergy shot – cytopoint. This helps me a lot. I also need a bath every 3 days to keep my allergies under control. Finally, every night I need to have my paws wiped with special medicated wipes.
You know what I love more than anything, except for snuggling with you? I love belly rubs. If I am cuddling with you, I will throw myself backwards so my belly is right there for you to give me a rub. Be forewarned that if you stop, I will let you know I am not done being rubbed.
Since I have a short nose and a few physical issues, I would like a home with people who have experience with the needs of short-nosed dogs. I also need someone who will commit to taking care of my eye and allergies. I also want a fenced in yard where if I bolt out the door, I can’t run away and get lost. One final request: I need a home with another dog in it. Not only do I love playing and cuddling with a doggie friend, they help with get around.
So, I am ready to find you and love you up.
On a parting note, my foster Mom says this about me: “Despite her issues, she is amazing. The happiest dog. You could be having a horrible day, see her hop, and just feel better. She is full of personality.”
