More About Me

If you are looking for a snuggle-bunny, best friend forever, and a source of constant entertainment, then silly Tilley is your girl.

Consider:

She loves to play catch as long as she has the ball, and you are chasing her
She relishes being your own personal weighted blanket
She is stubborn beyond the pale but is easily coaxed with food!

Preferring to be the queen of her castle, Tilley gets that mischief-maker sparkle in her eye, and you know she is figuring out what she can get into next. She adores her toys – tennis balls, stuffies, hard chew toys – she doesn’t discriminate! The yard is her play domain (a fenced in one is a must) where she’ll run and play with all kinds of vim and vigor. But take her for a walk around the neighborhood, and you’ll feel like you’re dragging a cinderblock. She does have a strange habit of trying to eat rocks. Only rocks. She should not be left outside unattended.

Tilley is overflowing with personality. She’s friendly, a mischief maker, and busy bee. She can also be dominant. But when playtime is over, and evening is nigh, she turns into your cozy, loving weighted blanket and simply can’t get close enough to you.

Silly Tilley found her way into rescue because she was fighting with the other resident dog and inadvertently bit the owner who was trying to break up a fight. Translated – Tilley is not normally an aggressive dog. On the other hand, she can get a bit cranky when forced to do something she doesn’t want to do. Where this shows up especially is at the vet when she’s handled in certain ways, picked up, restrained, and removed from a kennel. Professional training is highly recommended so there is always a positive interaction between Tilley and her new family.

She is on prescription dog food and long-term medication to control intestinal bowel disorder (IBD) and small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). She is doing well on this regimen. No other foods should be given to her. She gets a daily lunch meal of dog food in her Kong about which she is obsessed.

What are her favorite things? Number 1 – her humans! Give her a human lap and she’s in heaven. She also loves to sunbathe. In the summer she’ll lounge in the yard, and in the winter, she’ll find whatever patches of sunlight she can find coming in through the windows. She also loves her bath and can sometimes be found standing in an empty tub hoping someone will come by and turn on the water.

Tilley is a sweet, loving and sensitive soul and her fear and stubbornness can get the best of her at times. It’s important to take things slow and easy with her, and when she bonds, it’s for the long haul.

A home awash in routine is the best place for this wonderful girl, as well as one where at least one person is home most of the day. Although she loves all children (and they love her), a home with little, little ones is not recommended because in her enthusiasm to play, Tilley can exuberantly jump on and knock them over. In addition to a home with a fenced in yard, she would otherwise do well in most other environments.

As is always the case, our foster parents always have the last, and most valuable words to say about their canine charges: "Tilley is an amazing little girl. So fun and so full of life! She quickly captured our hearts with her full body snuggles and endless playful energy. She deserves to be the queen of her castle and in return, will undoubtably shower an attentive, caring family with all of her love."

If you think you can give Tilley the home she needs and deserves, then fill out the application for her.
