Stand back - because here he is. Please meet Walter, a two year old French bulldog weighing in at 27 LBS. Walter is a funny goofy boy that will keep you in stitches all day long. He loves his people and wants to be close at all times. He needs to be close. It’s kind of a requirement. If you want personal space, forget it. He loves to play, snuggle, kiss and snooze. He is the perfect package.
Walter came into rescue due to having a bad back. His wonderful foster family made sure he got a lot of rest in order to help him recover. In his new home, he will have to continue strengthening his back muscles to protect his discs. He doesn’t lift weights, so a gym isn’t necessary, but a strict routine to make sure he doesn’t injure himself is important. No jumping and playing rough. Now try and tell that to a young buck like Walter. In fact, that is why his furry foster siblings think his name is “No Walter”.
Did we mention that Walter loves his people and does not like to be alone. He is very very social. On a social scale of 1-10, Walter is around a 25.5. If you think you can take a bathroom break, sure…Walter wants to come along. Someone who is retired or works from home is important as well. When left alone, and he disapproves, he is known to do the Frenchie wail. Due to this tendency, we would not recommend an apartment or the city.
Walter would be great with an active adult only family, with maybe a furry sibling or two, that will keep working with him on his back stabilization. Also, someone that can carry 27 pounds around when necessary (up and down on couch, bed, stairs, car – you get the drift) is important to not hurt his back.
Walter is housebroken, unless it’s cold and wet outside. I mean can you blame him? He does great on a leash and he loves to be outside when it is warm and dry.
Walter also loves zippy paw toys and wishbone chew bones to carry around so make sure you have a lot of those (he added that). This dog just wants to love you and you love him. This shouldn’t be too hard. “Stuck On You” is Walter’s favorite song…..if this tune sings to you as well, submit an application to S.N.O.R.T. today!
