Some dogs walk into your life politely. Wanda moves in emotionally within five minutes and appoints herself your personal shadow for life.
Wanda, also known as Wanda Yolanda Vega when she’s feeling fancy, is a four-year-old French Bulldog mix currently being fostered in Binghamton, New York after being rescued as part of a large seizure of dogs from a property. Despite her rough start, Wanda arrived with nothing but sweetness, a calm spirit, and a very strong opinion that humans should never go anywhere without her.
At about 38 pounds, Wanda is a sturdy little lovebug whose personality can best be described as sweet, chill, and extremely clingy—in the best possible way. She simply wants to be with her people. If you stand up, she stands up. If you walk into another room, she will absolutely accompany you because clearly that was the plan all along. Baby gates meant to keep her away from you? Not a chance. Wanda considers those more of a suggestion than a rule and has been known to knock them down in her quest to remain part of the action.
She’s wonderfully social and truly loves everyone she meets. Kids, adults, visitors—Wanda assumes they are all potential best friends. She also lives peacefully with multiple dogs, including a puppy she treats with saint-like patience. She enjoys playing and especially loves snuggling with her dog friends, so another dog in the home would likely make her very happy. She can live with cats as well, though a cat who understands dogs would be the best match since Wanda initially found chasing the resident cat to be a very exciting hobby.
Personality-wise, Wanda is a laid-back couch potato who is perfectly satisfied with a daily walk followed by quality lounging time. She’s outgoing and friendly but not overly energetic—think “enthusiastic companion” rather than “marathon training partner.” Her favorite hobbies include squeaky toys, chewing on a good bone, and being wherever her people are at all times.
Wanda is housebroken and already knows several polite dog skills including sit, shake, and patiently waiting to eat until she’s told it’s okay. She’s currently learning to ring bells at the door when she needs to go outside. She’s also wonderfully tolerant of handling—ear cleaning, nail trims, baths, teeth brushing—you name it. She takes it all in stride like a very cooperative little potato.
Health-wise, Wanda only deals with mild allergies that are easily managed with a daily Claritin. Otherwise she’s a happy, healthy girl ready for her forever home.
Wanda is incredibly adaptable and could thrive in many different types of homes, from apartments to houses, in the city, suburbs, or country. Families, couples, singles, first-time dog owners, or experienced bulldog lovers could all be a great match. While she doesn’t require someone to be home all day, she would absolutely prefer a home where she gets plenty of companionship and attention.
What makes Wanda truly special is how deeply she bonds with her people. She loves hard, trusts completely, and just wants to be part of a family. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a home where she can follow her favorite humans from room to room, nap beside them on the couch, and finally know that she’s exactly where she belongs.
