More About Me

Is there a politician in the house? Yep, and his name is Zeus! Whether it be the mayor of the household or the Senator of the vet clinic, Zeus is definitely “the man.”

This loving, funny, and obedient boy proved to be heart worm positive, which meant a long recovery filled with medications, shots, and much crate rest, all of which he weathered like a true trooper. Now that he’s better, he’s all about playing with the foster family’s 70-pound Staffordshire terrier rescue as well as finding all kinds of ways to focus his active self into digging up mischief. He is also the friendliest guy on the block, loves to greet everyone and anyone, but he can also be the coziest, cuddliest couch potato you’d ever want to meet.

Potty trained? Zeus gets A+ on this one! He will wait by the door, or utter a few syllables to tell you, it’s time! In addition to getting your attention to go potty, Zeus will also try to do the same if you are home but not in the same room as he.

Probably because of his long confinement, this boy is definitely on the chubby side and needs to lose weight to stay healthy. Otherwise, he is healthy except for a few minor skin issues. He had a severe heat rash when he first came into foster which was treated.

Toys? Who has the toy? Zeus has the toy! Zeus loves toys! His current favorite is a toy taco, which means that every day is taco Tuesday! He also loves to chew away on Nyla and bene bones.

Zeus is the sweetest and his favorite thing in the world is to hang around humans and get plenty of attention. His ideal home will be with either an older couple or a family with kids, and the best environment for him would be suburban, rural, in an apartment, townhouse or single-family house.

When it comes to the true voice for a pet, the foster parent really says it all best, and that is certainly the case with Zeus.

"Zeus is such a special loving guy! He never showed any type of aggressive behavior during this whole extensive protocol he went through. The prednisone part of his protocol was the hardest because he was constantly thirsty and peeing and maybe he had 2 accidents because he just couldn’t help it. He’s a character -  loves his toys and people - he loves his foster sister Sadie too! One day she had to go to the vet for half a day and I could tell he missed her. Zeus would be happy in a shack on the side of the road as long as someone cuddled him and gave him toys."
