Cleo

This special girl needs a very special home so keep reading to find out if you might be a match!

Cleopatra, who goes by Cleo, has some very specific requirements. First, she requests that she be the only pet in the household. Like Cleopatra Queen of the Nile, our Cleo wants to be queen of her castle – she does not get along well with cats or other dogs.

She does, however, get along incredibly well with her humans. She loves them so much she simply can’t stand to be without them. She literally sleeps on top of her foster mom, that’s how much she loves her people! As is fitting for a queen, she fully believes she should be the center of attention at all times so she needs a forever home that will put her on a pedestal where she belongs!

Her love of people unfortunately does not extend to children, so she must also go to a child-free home. While she has not been around children in her foster home, she was exposed to them before and had a history of nipping so SNORT is adamant that there should be no children in her new home.

Like many queens, she likes to inspect the land over which she rules. A fenced-in yard would be great, but more than anything she wants to get out and walk, walk, walk, so be sure to have those walking shoes handy! Cleo also loves a good chew toy – or really anything she can chew, so her new family must be diligent to keep things that shouldn’t be chewed out of her reach. Fortunately she loves chew toys of all kinds (just not the kind she can eat, of course!).

It’s likely that Miss Cleo was not well fed in her previous home as she gets incredibly excited for food; so excited, in fact, that she literally shakes when it’s time to eat!

Speaking of food, Cleo had a prolapsed rectum when arriving in her foster home and it had reoccurred several times in her life, including once in her foster home. Since being switched to very bland food (Hill Science Diet for sensitive stomachs), though, her prolapse has not reoccurred and it is very important that she remain on that specific food and take the prescription-strength probiotics given to her by her vet.

Despite her quirks, Cleo is one smart little cookie! She knows “sit” and “down,” and is both housebroken and crate trained! Who knows what else she can learn?!

Because of her love of her people, Cleo would ideally be adopted by a family in which someone is home during the day. She really is her happiest when she is sitting on her human’s lap snoozing the day away and it would not be fair to her to have her alone for 8-10+ hours a day.

This little girl had a rough start to life but all she wants is to love and be loved by her humans. She is the sweetest dog when she’s with her people and she is going to make the right family incredibly happy. You could not ask for a more loving and affectionate dog so get your applications in ASAP!
